Brenda lost 52 pounds. She finally promised herself that she would reach her weight loss goals, and she didn’t quit. By working with a trainer and a dietitian, she learned how to put together well-balanced meals and exercise effectively.

After struggling with weight loss for many years, I finally made a promise to love myself and do what I had to do to get to where I wanted to be physically. At my heaviest weight, I weighed 220 pounds. Now, I weigh 168 pounds. I’m healthier, stronger, and, most importantly, I’m more confident. It’s because of the weight loss, but because I made a promise to myself, and I didn’t quit. 

How did you change your eating habits?
I learned so much about myself and my body. After trying many different diets, meal plans, fasting, fads, etc. I decided to work with a trainer and dietitian. I learned how to eat healthy, moderately, and have well-balanced meals. I am no longer chained to the concept of diet. 

Instead, I am eating whatever I want but in a caloric deficit. I’m also watching my sugar intake and working out five days a week in the gym. I ate high-protein meals and lots of veggies. 

What was your workout routine?
My workout consisted of 30-50 minutes of cardio on the stair master 4-5x a week, depending on how I felt. I also did weight lifting 4-5 times a day and Tabata. My trainer was really helpful with teaching me more workouts, helping me stay motivated, and showing me workouts I wouldn’t do on my own.

What is your height?
I am 5’8

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey one year ago. I lost 30 pounds, got discouraged, fell back into old habits, regained a few pounds, and started again in September. I worked out consistently and maintained a calorie deficit, which goes such a long way. From Sept to Dec, I lost 25 pounds (which was mostly fat and retaining/gaining some muscle).

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No weight loss surgery. I tried ultrasonic cavitation once, but it did not work on me at all. My weight-loss has been entirely natural – no supplements, no teas.

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
I would love to help and give everyone advice on what finally worked for me. The most important thing I can say is make a promise to yourself and do not break it. This isn’t just about your body. It’s a battle to win the mind.

Is there anything else you’d like to say to others who wants to lose weight like you?
